State police confirm one fatality on U.S. 50 West
GORE - The Virginia State Police have confirmed one fatality today following a crash involving a motorcycle and passenger car on Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50).
A trooper at the scene could not release any further information at the time. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Northwestern Pike, near Lee’s Appliance.
Sandi Gregory, 37, of Gore, was driving the passenger car involved in the crash and said it was an accident.
“I don’t feel like it was my fault,” she said, visibly emotional as she sat on the porch of Lee’s Appliance.
Her boyfriend, Christopher Adams, 27, was with her in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
He said they were making a left hand turn onto the east bound lanes of traffic, and that a hill in front of the median strip blocked their view.
“It was a complete freak accident,” he said. “I double checked her, she looked and I looked ... You can only see so far.”
