BERRYVILLE — House of Delegates candidate Mary Daniel will open her campaign headquarters this morning in the former Berryville Pharmacy.

The Town Council member is running as a Democrat for the 33rd District House seat. She will oppose Republican Dave LaRock in the Nov. 5 election.

LaRock defeated 10-term delegate Joe May, R-Leesburg, in the June 11 Republican primary.

The headquarters, at 8 W. Main St., will open at 10 a.m.

“We’ve invited some of the local elected officials who have already endorsed Mary to come,” said Adam Sharp, Daniel’s campaign manager. “Mary will give a short speech. Then there will be some mingling time and fellowship.”

Refreshments will be available, and supporters can learn how they can volunteer for the campaign, Sharp said. “We will also be giving out yard signs and bumper stickers.”

Sharp said that starting on Tuesday, the headquarters will be open and staffed Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

LaRock is operating his campaign from his home, according to Daniel Davies, his campaign manager.

“We’re making use of the Republican victory offices,” he added.

A Republican campaign office will open in Berryville in a couple weeks, Davies said.

A GOP election headquarters opened in late July at 113 Weems Lane in Winchester.

The 33rd District includes parts of Frederick, Clarke and Loudoun counties.
