What you love about basketball: I mostly like the whole aspect of a team. When my team really gets going, we become a family, and I like that. We play really well together.

Biggest strength and weakness in basketball: [Strength], attacking the basket, and looking for and finding open shots. [Weakness], conditioning. I’m usually on the floor a lot, so I have to push myself hard.

Funniest person on the team: Montana Clark. We call her “Monty.” She’s just funny even when she doesn’t try to be funny.

Something people may not know about Coach Regina Downing: She played college basketball at New Mexico State, and she’s a very straightforward person. She doesn’t sugarcoat anything.

Most memorable moment in basketball: Definitely making it to states last year. (Clarke County advanced to the Group A Division 2 state semifinals, it’s deepest postseason run since winning the 2007 Group A state title.) When I was little, in 2006 and ’07, me and [teammate] Sydney [Chrane] watched her sister [Sarah] play in the state tournament, and we saw her win the state title. So it was like a flashback, but now we were actually the ones playing.

Favorite athlete: [Miami Heat guard] Ray Allen. He can shoot lights-out. His shot is just amazing.

Favorite team: Boston Celtics

Three people you can have dinner with, dead or alive: My grandpa, “Pap.” (Norman Catlett.) He was a basketball coach and I look up to him. He’s my idol, and he comes to a lot of my games and supports me; Jimmy Racer — He died two years ago and was a close family friend, and he was very involved in the Clarke County basketball program; and [former basketball player] Michael Jordan. I wear his number [23]. It would be awesome to sit and hear him talk while being with those two other people.

Favorite place to eat in town: Jane’s Lunch [in Berryville]. I go there just about every day. The atmosphere is great and Mitzie [Myers, the owner], I love her company, and she loves [the athletes’] company.

Plans after high school: I just want to play basketball somewhere. I also want to go someplace where I can study to be a physical therapist.
