Boyce receives advice, issues praise at annual fire banquet

The Boyce Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company on Saturday honored top performers from 2013 at its annual awards banquet. They are (from left): J.D. Jackson, the Top Responder; Lee Coffelt, Emergency Medical Service award winner; outgoing Fire Chief Bryan Conrad, who was honored for 11 years in the post; and Jeff Gray, Firefighter of the Year.
Outgoing Fire Chief Bryan Conrad was honored for 11 years of service in the post. His accomplishments included upgrading much of the company’s equipment, creating a certified ambulance service at the company with basic and advanced life support, and working on programs to improve service and response times throughout the county. His helmet was “retired” and those who served under him added their signatures to it.
