The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber will host a Business after Hours from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Historic Long Branch at 830 Long Branch Lane near Millwood.

All chamber members and prospective members are welcome to attend. They should bring business cards for networking and door prizes.

The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber will hold its annual Regional Business Expo May 23 in the Brandt Student Center at Shenandoah University in Winchester.

More than 50 vendors will display local products and services at the business-to-business trade show. The event is free and open to the public.

Indoor and outdoor vendor spaces are available.

The expo will start with a Networking Lunch in the Food Court of the student center from 11:30a.m. to 1 p.m. The trade show will begin after lunch and will end at 5 p.m.

Dr. R. Marcelo Melivilu, medical director of Linden Heights Animal Hospital in Winchester, attended the Western Veterinary Conference for advanced training in medical and surgical treatment of liver disease, small-animal dentistry and surgical ACL repair.

Peter W. Buchbauer and James J. McGuire of the Winchester law firm of Buchbauer & McGuire PC, attended the mid-year meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, last month.

The seminars focused on handling complex equitable distribution and custody cases and advanced evidence issues, including the collection and presentation of electronic evidence. Buchbauer is the Virginia chapter representative to the Board of Governors of the academy and has been a fellow since 2004.

Long & Foster/Webber & Associates’ top lister for March is Jeannie Thomson.

Jim Thomson is the firm’s top producer and top salesperson for the month.

Jason Long has joined Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC, a certified public accounting and business consulting firm, as a principal.

He is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives for the firm and the bank audit group, and providing high-quality service to the clients under his practice.

Long joined YHB in 2002 at the company headquarters in Winchester. In 2004, he became the first member of the new team in the Richmond market.

He graduated from Virginia Tech summa cum laude with a bachelor’ s degree in accounting in 2001 and a master’s degree in accounting and information systems in 2002.
