Car hits veterinary office
A Nissan Rogue SUV sits against the Animal Medical Center of Frederick County after striking the building on Aylor Road Monday afternoon. Virginia State Police had medical concerns about the driver and asked that she be transported to Winchester Medical Center, according to Steven Ritter, deputy fire chief with Stephens City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. An employee inside the business sustained minor injuries when a shelf holding files fell on her as a result of the crash, Ritter said. She was taken by a co-worker to a medical facility for treatment. It’s not known if any charges were filed in the incident. Damage estimates to the building’s exterior are $5,000 to $8,000, Ritter said. (Photo by Jeff Taylor/The Winchester Star)
