WINCHESTER — City police are investigating a burglary from over the weekend at Hopscotch Coffee Roasters.

Officers were called just before 7 a.m. Sunday to the coffee bar, located at 250 Millwood Avenue.

Someone from the business told police that he went to work and found that someone had entered the building and stolen money from the cash register, according to Winchester Police Department spokeswoman Lauren Cummings.

She said it was cash that was reported stolen but did not reveal the amount.

The alleged burglar or burglars forced entry into the business by taking out the air conditioning unit and going through a window, according to Cummings.

Police believe the crime took place sometime after midnight Sunday. No one was found at the scene, and the case remains under investigation.
