WINCHESTER — City police are looking for a man who broke into a local furniture store.

According to a Winchester Police Department media release, officers responded to Schewels Furniture at 1865 W. Plaza Drive about 8 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an alarm.

When they arrived, they found that the front window of the business had been shattered.

The area was searched, but officers have not found anyone they believe to be responsible for the crime, according to police spokesman Lauren Cummings.

Some electronic devices were reported stolen from the store, but Cummings could not say what the devices were or the value of the items.

The suspect — who was caught on surveillance footage — is described as a white male wearing a yellow-hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Winchester Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 540-545-4704 or Crime Solvers at 540-665-8477.
