City warns motorists of festival traffic

WINCHESTER — City police are reminding motorists that they should expect traffic delays downtown today through Saturday night as a result of the 86th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.

The Old Town Midway is open from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. today and Saturday on North Loudoun Street. The Firefighters’ Parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. today and the Grand Feature Parade at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Both parades are downtown.

Most parking restrictions go into effect this morning. For more information, go to the city’s website at winchesterva.gov/apple-blossom.

Police advise motorists not attending festival events to avoid the downtown area.
