BERRYVILLE — Two of the now three candidates for the Berryville District seat on the Clarke County School Board will get their chance to address the public tonight.

Roberta Lasiter and new candidate Chuyen Kochinsky, of Montgomery Court, will answer questions on public education and Clarke County Public Schools at a candidate forum at Jack Enders Fire Hall, 9 S. Buckmarsh St.

Kochinsky, who has lived in Berryville since 2007, said she registered Tuesday as a write-in candidate.

Both women will run against George Archibald in the Nov. 5 election.

Tonight’s event is free and open to the public. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. A reception and meet-and-greet will take place afterward until 8:30 p.m.

Lasiter was unable to attend a candidate forum on Oct. 7 that included Archibald and two candidates vying for the Virginia House of Delegates 33rd District seat — Democrat Mary Costello Daniel and Libertarian Patrick G. Hagerty.

E³ Clarke — a nonpartisan group promoting dialogue between students, parents, community members, faculty and school administrators — and the Clarke County Education Association are co-hosting tonight’s event. The groups also hosted the Oct. 7 forum.
