Interstate Truck Pull

The Interstate Truck Pull will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Clarke County Ruritan Fairgrounds, 890 W. Main St., Berryville.

Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit Clarke County Young Farmers.

Teen dance

A teen dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday and an adult dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 414 N. Kent St., Winchester.

DJ Phil Robinson of See Note Entertainment will provide music.

Cost is $8 for teen dance and $10 for the adult dance.

Preservation of Historic Winchester’s “Lunch and Learn” series will begin at noon Tuesday in the Lewis-Jones Knitting Mill at 126 N. Kent St. The topic will be “The Virginia Department of Historic Resources: Putting Virginia’s History to Work” by David Edwards and Joanie Evans. Admission is free and open to the public.

Spring Swing Golf Tournament

Apple Valley Republican Women will have its first Spring Swing Golf Tournament May 31 at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club in Front Royal.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Golfers will use a scramble format.

Library Friends  annual meeting

Dr. Richard Guy Wilson, architectural historian and commonwealth professor in architectural history at the University of Virginia, will speak at the Friends of Handley Regional Library’s annual meeting at 7 p.m. May 15 in the auditorium of Handley Library.

The topic is “The Handley Library and the American Renaissance in Architecture and Art” in honor of the library’s 100th anniversary. A reception and book signing will follow.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Lunch and Learn

The last installment of Preservation of Historic Winchester’s “Lunch and Learn” series will begin at noon May 15 in the basement bar of Lewis-Jones Knitting Mill at 126 N. Kent St.

The topic will be “How to Utilize State and Federal Historic Tax Credits” by John Willingham.

Winterthur bus trip

The Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society will have a bus trip to Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library in Wilmington, Del., on May 23.

The cost is $65 for members and $75 for others.

Golf Before the Walk

Relay For Life and the WINGS team will have its sixth annual Golf Before the Walk at 1 p.m. June 12 at Rock Harbor Golf Course.

Registration includes lunch before and dinner served following the tournament, carts, green fees, and prizes.
