Shenandoah Valley Runners

The eighth Shenandoah Valley Runners winter series race, Treasure Hunt 5K, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sherando Family Fitness in Stephens City.

Entry fees are $4 for members, $5 for non-members and $1 for students. Participants may pre-register online at and are asked to bring items for a “treasure” table.

Korean War Veterans

Shenandoah Valley Chapter 313 of the Korean War Veterans Association will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the American Legion Post 2, 1730 Berryville Pike.

Any member of the military who served in Korea, including territorial waters and airspace from Sept. 3, 1945, to the present, and any veteran who served outside Korea between Jan. 25, 1950, and Jan. 31, 1955, may become a member.

Dance Club Shenandoah

Dance Club Shenandoah will hold a dance at 7:30 p.m. March 16 at the North Warren Fire Hall, 266 Rockland Court, Front Royal.

The swing band Eclectic Coalition will play.

This is a members-only organization that holds monthly swing/Latin/ballroom dances with live bands.

Old Fredericktown Garden Club will meet March 13 at the home of Bernie Earley. The meeting will be co-hosted with Peg Magtutu.

The program will be a workshop on small and miniature designs.

Artistic will be designs made in the workshop and will be taken home by the creators.

Horticulture will be open but feature living branches.

Nationwide Rotary Rail and Water Tour will come to the Rotary Club of Winchester meeting at noon Thursday at the Travelodge.

Martina Frycova from the Czech Republic is embarking on a nationwide tour of the United States to bring stories of Rotary’s programs to provide clean water in developing countries. She will explain how these efforts deliver sustainable solutions for thousands of people.
