winchester — The Miss Apple Blossom Festival Pageant Scholarship Program will host the 2014 scholarship competitions for ladies in three divisions: Miss (ages 17-24), Teen (ages 13-17), and Pre-Teen (ages 9-12).

The deadline to enter is Oct. 31. The pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Daniel Morgan Middle School in Winchester and is sponsored by Loudoun Mutual. Snow date is Nov. 10.

The Miss Apple Blossom Festival is an official preliminary to the Miss Virginia and Miss America Organization. The Miss Teen and Pre-Teen winners advance to the Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen and Pre-Teen competitions, providing more opportunity to win scholarships.

The state competitions are held in June in Roanoke.

Miss Apple Blossom Festival 2014 will receive a college scholarship, a year’s schedule of community service appearances, and the chance to compete for additional scholarship awards in the Miss Virginia and possibly Miss America Scholarship Programs.

The Miss Apple Blossom Outstanding Teen and Pre-Teen winners will receive a scholarship award, and their state entry fee of $395 will be paid to compete for the Miss Virginia competition in June.

Bridget Aikens is contestant chairperson.
