Handley students Danielle Mango (from left), a junior; junior Lauren McDonald and senior Kansas Hoobler plant seeds in a vegetable garden in the courtyard of their school. The girls and other students in science teacher Laura Sabatino’s ecology classes are planting fall vegetables that will be donated to the Evans Home after harvesting. About 45 students are taking part in the garden project and local businesses have contributed tools and supplies for the garden, according to Sabatino. (Photo by Scott Mason/The Winchester Star)
