Four local authors to discuss books

winchester — The Friends of Handley Regional Library will present Author’s Forum 2012 at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Handley Library auditorium at 100 W. Piccadily St.

Four local authors will discuss their recently published books.

The brief presentations will be followed by questions from the audience.

The moderator for the forum event is Trish Ridgeway, the director of Handley Regional Library. She will celebrate her 20th year as director next year.

A reception and book-signing will follow the program. The event is free and open to the public.

The authors for the forum are:

Lawrence W. Fagg, who will discuss his book “Electromagnetism: Nature’s Force That Shapes Our Lives.”

He has a doctorate in physics from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in religion from George Washington University.

Jerry W. Holsworth, who will discuss his books “Stonewall Jackson and Winchester, Virginia” and “Civil War Winchester.”

He is an archives assistant in the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives at Handley Regional Library. He has a master’s degree in American studies from the University of Dallas.

Gail Huntley, who will explain her memoir “Blunt Force Winds.”

She has a bachelor’s degree in English from San Diego State University and a master’s degree in education from Shenandoah University. She retired from teaching in 2011.

Elizabeth S. Trindal, who will discuss her biography “Mary Surratt: An American Tragedy.”

She attended the University of South Carolina and is the past president of the National League of American Pen Women, Valley of Virginia Chapter.
