WINCHESTER — A Gore man was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after allegedly brandishing a pistol at a man after a fight.

According to a city police media release, Jonathon Long Sr., 49 — of the 200 block of Sinking Spring Lane in Gore — is charged with brandishing a weapon and simple assault.

Officer A.P. Specksgoor responded to the 600 block of Fairview Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday after a report about a possible fight.

The alleged victim told the officer he was involved in a fight with Long on the front lawn, according to the release.

The alleged victim said that after he went inside the residence, Long remained outside, standing in the front yard with a “black pistol.”

Long left the scene before police arrived, but was later arrested at his home by Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Long posted bond and was released from the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center Friday, according to a jail official.
