Students at Redbud Run got to ask questions of hot-air balloon pilot Kevin Poeppelman, who showed the children how one works. A few lucky teachers and staff members even took tethered rides in the aircraft.
Hundreds of students cheered — while some looked up in open-mouthed wonder — as a hot-air balloon lifted off on Friday morning.
The cheering then turned to playful chants of “cut the...
