Who is the owner? Nate Battaglia

What is the phone number? 540-667-2351

Do you have a website? It is under construction.

What are your hours? 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

When did you open? Officially — as ICON — November 2013

What services do you provide? Screen printed and embroidered apparel for businesses, schools and other organizations.

Why did you decide to open this business? Do you have any prior business experience? ICON is a combination of two existing businesses that have been in the area for several years. I owned and operated Signet Business Promotions, a business under the roof of another screen printer in Frederick County, beginning in 2002. Drema Seal owned and operated T-Shirt Attic here at 65 Featherbed Lane in Winchester for 25 years. A series of events brought us together, and I decided to create a new business with a fresh identity. A condition of this merger was that Drema stayed on in her capacity as head of our embroidery department and as a customer service representative to assure her longtime clients that they would be well taken care of.

I have been in the printing industry in one form or another all of my life. Screen printing, embroidery and ad specialties have been my focus since moving to this area in 1994.

We provide everything from printed, performance T-shirts for 5K Runs, family reunions, or company picnics, to high-quality embroidered polo shirts, fleece, jackets and hats for the corporate sector.

What sets your business apart from others? Many years of capable experience in the field. We are not newcomers hoping to strike out in unfamiliar territory as many investors often do. Our production staff, from art design, to printing or embroidery of a finished product, are seasoned professional people. Also, when you offer the same products as someone else does, service and customer relations are the two things that will set you apart. This industry is built around time-sensitive deadlines, and in our short time together as a team, we have never missed one. We will go the extra mile to make sure the customer feels confident choosing ICON to fill their decorated apparel needs.

How many employees do you have? Five full-time; part-timers added as needed for busy times.
