Karaoke and catfish
Michael Gremillion of Winchester competes in a karaoke contest Friday at Concern Hotline’s annual Fish Fry fundraiser at Grove’s Winchester Harley-Davidson at 140 Independence Drive in Frederick County. The event drew close to 1,500 people who ate about 60 pounds of catfish and helped the nonprofit raise approximately $23,000, according to Carol Melby, Concern Hotline’s interim executive director. The money will be used to keep crisis hotlines open in region. Last year, Concern Hotline fielded 8,026 calls, offering help, community service referrals or just a listening ear.
