Loudoun Street Mall rededication events

4 p.m. — Ribbon cutting and presentation of bricks at the Piccadilly Street entrance, followed by plaque dedication in front of the Old Court House Civil War Museum and a project question-and-answer session near the splash pad.


Noon — Free ice cream social.

Noon and 1 p.m. — Historic/architectural tours by Patrick Farris.

Noon to 4 p.m. — Music in front of the Old Court House Civil War Museum provided by Sweet Adelines (noon-12:30 p.m., 1-1:30 p.m.) and Apple Capital Chorus (2-2:30 and 3-3:30 p.m.).

Noon to 4 p.m. — Family activities: Magician Kevin Owens (across from Winchester Book Gallery, 185 N. Loudoun St.); face painting by Handley High School’s Latinos Unidos Club; Shenandoah Discovery Museum activities on the mall, including the Discovery Story Theater and outdoor games such as cornhole; and Old Town Winchester Past and Present slideshow presentation with historic mall photos at the Godfrey Miller Pavilion.

Noon to 4 p.m. — Open house: Godfrey Miller Home at 28 S. Loudoun St., with docents in period dress; Bright Box Theatre at 15 N. Loudoun; and Masonic Lodge at 118 N. Loudoun St. (fresco viewings); and Feltner Museum at 9 N. Loudoun St. (viewing of extensive art collection).
