WINCHESTER — Police detained a local man Wednesday who allegedly fired shots at a Frederick County business, but officials are not releasing his name or where he is being held.

According to Frederick County Capt. Allen Sibert, deputies responded at 2:40 p.m. to shots being fired at Pack-It Inn Storage LLC at 200 Imboden Drive.

After deputies were given the description of a truck leaving the area, they detained the man — who is from Frederick County — without incident during a traffic stop.

Following a brief search, officers found a shotgun in the vehicle that looked to be the weapon that was fired.

According to Sibert, the building had multiple bullet holes on the exterior and interior walls. Officers searched the area and concluded that nothing else was hit.

Sibert said he did not know the motive for the shooting. He said no one was injured in the incident, which is still under investigation.

Charges are pending.
