WINCHESTER — A Frederick County man has pleaded guilty to three counts of carnal knowledge of a minor.

Alexander Bryan Dunn, 21, was sentenced on Friday in Frederick County Circuit Court to 15 years in prison, with all but two years suspended.

When released, he will serve five years of supervised probation, 10 years of unsupervised probation and must register as a sex offender, according to his attorney Christopher Collins.

Dunn was sentenced on two of the three charges and will be sentenced on the other charge on Feb. 12, Collins said. He added that delaying sentencing for one or more charges is not an unusual action.

The charges against Dunn stem from a string of consensual sexual encounters with a 13-year-old girl between Jan. 28 and March 28, 2012, in Frederick County, according to evidence presented by the prosecution prior to sentencing.

The prosecution’s evidence was based on Dunn’s confession.

Dunn, who was sentenced by Judge Clifford “Clay” Athey, is being held in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.

Collins said Dunn could be sent to a different facility following his Feb. 12 sentencing.

Carnal knowledge of a minor is a Class 4 felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000, according to state law.
