North end of Loudoun Street Mall unchanged ... so far
The north portion of the Loudoun Street Mall remains intact Monday as crews from State College, Pa.-based HRI Inc. work on the strip’s $7.1 million infrastructure replacement project. Construction began Jan. 2 and is scheduled for substantial completion by April 30. Until then, crews will work Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is the mall’s first major renovation since it was built in 1974. The project calls for replacing infrastructure along the mall, in addition to adding public bathrooms, gateway entrances, and a splashpad water feature.
