Paula and Alfred Myer of Berryville provided this photo of the Goodyear airship “Mayflower” landing at Winchester Municipal Airport. The photo, taken by The Star's photographer Jim Hamilton, was published in The Star, but the Myers did not know the date. According to the article with the photo, several thousand people came to the airport to see the blimp during its overnight visit to Winchester. The blimp was one of two Goodyear airships that cruised the skies year-round.
