Marlton, N.J., pitcher Blake Morgan struck out nine in a complete-game performance and also hit a solo home run to left-center in the first inning of his team’s 5-0 victory over Sarasota, Fla., in the Cal Ripken 10-Year-Old World Series semifinals Friday night.
Sarasota, Fla., pitcher Clay Russin started on the mound for his team in Friday’s loss to Marlton, N.J. Offensively, he finished 1 for 3 with a single.
