WINCHESTER — City police are investigating the possible abuse of a 5-year-old.

Officers received a call on Friday about the matter and the child was taken for treatment at Winchester Medical Center, according to Sgt. Frank Myrtle.

A search warrant has been issued to investigate possible drug use at the site of the alleged abuse, in the 2600 block of Valley Avenue.

According to the warrant, filed on Monday in Winchester Circuit Court, an unnamed person reported seeing two people at that location, injecting themselves with “an unknown substance using needles.”

The person said they placed the syringes and some “green material” in a dark green box, and that the two “smoked the unknown green substance,” according to the warrant.

Police confiscated three smoking devices and a bottle of “total detox body cleanser” during their search.
