CLEAR BROOK — While superstorm Sandy pounded the area Monday night, one man braved the weather to rob a local gas station.

According to Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Allen Sibert, deputies are still searching for the man, who dressed in a winter mask and went armed into the State Line Exxon at 4663 Martinsburg Pike in Clear Brook at about 9 p.m.

Sibert said he entered with a firearm — which is not currently being identified — and demanded money. He allegedly left on foot and headed south down Martinsburg Pike with an undisclosed amount of money.

Sibert said deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the man, who was caught on surveillance footage during the robbery.

The man is described as being average in size — possibly between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet, and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a winter mask and gray hoodie sweatshirt.

Anyone with information can call the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office at 540-662-6162 or Crime Solvers at 540-665-8477.
