Police seek sex offender who failed to re-register
WINCHESTER — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Winchester Police Department are searching for a convicted sex offender who failed to re-register.
Law enforcement officers are asking for the public’s help in locating Jerry Paul Jenkins Jr., 45, of Winchester, according to a Winchester Police Department media release.
He is wanted in Winchester on two probation violations and contempt of court, and in Frederick County for a probation violation.
The release states that Jenkins has a history of violence and crimes against children.
“If you come in contact with him, do not approach him, and immediately contact law enforcement officials,” it states.
According to the Virginia sex offender registry, Jenkins is white, 5 feet, 8 inches and 160 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes.
He was convicted in 2005 of a charge of carnal knowledge against a child from the ages of 13 to 15, and again in 2006 for the same charge, in addition to taking indecent liberties with children.
