John Mann UMC

John Mann United Methodist Church will present “The 12 Virtuous Women of the Bible” at 3 p.m. Sunday at Market Street United Methodist Church.

This program will involve women from 10 churches in the community.

Seventh-day Adventist  and Advent Lutheran

Seventh-day Adventist Church and Advent Lutheran will host an election day prayer vigil from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at 1508 Valley Ave., Winchester.

Boyce Baptist

Boyce Baptist church will hold its annual hymn sing at 6 p.m. Saturday.

A number of groups and individuals will provide Christian musical entertainment. Refreshments will be provided following the event.

Mount Airy Baptist

Mount Airy Baptist Church, Lewisville, will have a fall rally at 3 p.m Sunday.

The Rev. Robert Morgan from Largo, Md., will be the guest preacher.

Gravel Springs Lutheran

Gravel Springs Lutheran Church will have “Mocha and a Message” at 6 p.m. Saturday in the social hall with upbeat contemporary gospel music along with coffee (and other beverages) and light refreshments.

There is no charge, but a freewill offering will be collected to benefit community outreach.

St. Luke Baptist

The women of Saint Luke Baptist Church, 17 Liberty St,, Berryville, will host a women’s retreat from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Rev. Angelia Alford of Kingdom Agenda Christian Center, Martinsburg, W.Va., will be the retreat leader.

The theme is “In the Potter’s Hands.” Continental breakfast and lunch will be served. A freewill offering will be taken. Call 540-955-1883.

Berryville Baptist

A Beth Greer concert will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Berryville Baptist Church, 114 Academy St., Berryville.

Greer is a Bible teacher, speaker, worship leader and vocalist.

Mount Carmel Baptist

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1317 S. Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester will have Women’s Day Weekend Nov. 9 to 11. The Rev. Kathy Byrd Thompson from Raleigh, N.C., will deliver the message at 10 a.m. Nov. 11.

The missionary blanket drive has been extended until Nov.18. The blankets will be donated to C-CAP, a nonprofit organization.

Stephens City Mennonite

An Election Day communion will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stephens City Mennonite Church, 5540 Valley Pike, Stephens City. Communion will be served at 15-minute intervals.

Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 10 Josephine St., Berryville, sanctuary choir will hold its annual day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Kenneth Cole, associate of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Leesburg.

Weekday Religious Education

Virginia Weekday Religious Education conducts weekly 30-minute Bible classes for fourth- and fifth-grade students of Frederick County.

Bible Study Fellowship

Bible Study Fellowship will host the 2012-13 study of Genesis.

Greenwood United Methodist Church offers “Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” for 34 sessions at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at the church, 726 Greenwood Road, Winchester.

Holy Family Orthodox

The Rev. Richard O’Connell Reed and Matushka Carol are establishing the Holy Family Orthodox Church in the Northern Shenandoah Valley around Woodstock.

The parish is part of the Russian Orthodox Church. Sunday liturgy is at 10 a.m., and the rite is St. Gregory (Western Rite).

Winchester Seventh-day Adventist

“His Helping Hands,” sponsored by the Winchester Seventh-day Adventist Church, meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays at 156 Lambden Ave.

The mission is to give back to the community by knitting, crocheting or sewing items to be donated to patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
