St. John’s Lutheran

St John’s Lutheran Church, 3623 Back Mountain Road, will have Mocha and a Message at 6 p.m. April 20 in the social hall with contemporary gospel music along with coffee and other beverages and light refreshments.

Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, U.S. 522 south of Winchester, will have homecoming June 2.

Shiloh Baptist Church in Winchester will have its annual Fowlkes’ Week April 18 to 21.

On April 18 and 19, there will be a revival; April 20 will be the Fowlkes Family Gathering, and April 21 will be Men’s Day.

The Rev. George Jones will be the guest preacher at 3 p.m. Sunday at Guilfield Baptist Church, Millwood.

Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 10 Josephine St., Berryville, will have its annual deaconess prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. April 13.

The honored guest is Merwyn Briscoe, minister of Shiloh Baptist Church, Millwood. A freewill offering will be taken.

John Mann UMC

John Mann United Methodist Church, 119 E. Cork St., Winchester will celebrate its usher anniversary at 3 p.m. April 21.

The Rev. Pete Thomas of Mount Tabor Baptist Church will be the guest speaker and will bring the church choir.

The church is co-sponsoring a trip to “Noah, The Musical” April 20 at Sight and Sound Millennium Theater.

Cost is $156 for adults, $119 for youth (13-18), and $109 for children (3-12).

Centenary Reformed UCC

Chiz Rider’s free hourlong performance will take place during the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service at Centenary Reformed United Church of Christ, 202 S. Cameron St., Winchester.

He has played trumpet tunes for a presidential campaign, a Billy Graham crusade, and a Special Olympics ceremony. The concert is free and open to the public.

Stephens City Mennonite

Stephens City Mennonite Church will host an evening out for women at 7 p.m. April 12 in the church parsonage. The topic is “Transforming Loss and Grief.”

The series on conflict resolution training continues with session 7 on “Generate Options” at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Calvary Baptist

“True Wind Weekend: Find Your Story” begins April 12 at Calvary Baptist Church on Amherst Street in Winchester.

David Clay, senior pastor, will lead sessions at 7 p.m. April 12, at 9 a.m. April 13, and during the worship service at 10:45 a.m. April 14.

Patsy Godley of Fredericksburg will kick off the April 12 session with a concert. She has served as music director at Ni River Community Church and currently headlines Patsy and the Country Classics, a country music cover band.

Seminars on a variety of topics including evangelism, hiking survival skills, couponing, retirement planning, and home organizing tips will be offered April 13. Lunch will also be available.

“Wide Angle: Framing Your Worldview,” a Bible study created by Christian leaders Rick Warren and the late Chuck Colson, is being offered at Calvary Baptist Church, Amherst Street, Winchester, at 6 p.m. Wednesdays.

Presbyterian Parish

The Presbyterian Parish of the Valleys is sponsoring a Celtic Revival featuring the Sky Family from Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Victory Church

Victory Church will screen a new faith and family friendly film, “Finding Faith” at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church on Middle Road.

Victory Church will also host the star of the film, Erik Estrada, to the screening.

This is a full-length narrative motion picture that tells the true story of how a family found faith in their battle to find and rescue their 14-year old daughter Faith, who falls victim to an online predator.

Child Evangelism Fellowship  and Valley Bible Church

A Good News Club, sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship and Valley Bible Church, meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the third Tuesday in the cafeteria of Middletown Elementary School.

Virginia Weekday Religious Education conducts weekly 30-minute Bible classes for fourth- and fifth-grade students of Frederick County.

Bible Study Fellowship

Bible Study Fellowship will host the 2013 study of Genesis.

Holy Family Orthodox

The Rev. Richard O’Connell Reed and Matushka Carol are establishing the Holy Family Orthodox Church in the Northern Shenandoah Valley around Woodstock.

Winchester Seventh-day Adventist

“His Helping Hands,” sponsored by the Winchester Seventh-day Adventist Church, meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays at 156 Lambden Ave. The mission is to give back to the community by knitting, crocheting or sewing items to be donated to patients in hospitals and nursing homes.
