Mount Airy Baptist

Mount Airy Baptist Church, Lewisville, will host the Gospel Tones from Rectortown at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Donations accepted for the building fund.

Fellowship Bible

Fellowship Bible Church, 3217 Middle Road, Winchester, will host Nashville-based Matthew Smith and Indelible Grace at 7 p.m. Oct. 12.

Visit to reserve free tickets. A freewill offering will be collected at the concert.

Smith and his band will play hymns from their new album, “Watch The Rising Day.”

Shiloh Baptist

Shiloh Baptist Church, 522 N. Kent St., Winchester, will have a program at 4 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Hampton Inn, 1204 Berryville Ave., Winchester. The Rev. Jerome H. Lewis from The Love of Christ Church in Woodbridge will be the guest along with his congregation and The Holy Dancer.

It is free, but a freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Shiloh Baptist Church Building Fund.

Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 10 Josephine St., Berryville, will host Sister Cheryl Pettus at 11 a.m. Sept. 29 for her initial sermon.

Mount Zion Baptist

The Rev. Mervin Brisco from Shiloh Baptist Church, Millwood, will be the guest preacher for the Women’s and Men’s Day at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Boyce.

A light lunch will be served between services.

Greenwood UMC

The Greenwood United Methodist Church will hold its monthly WoW community dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 726 Greenwood Road.

The United Methodist Men will serve a freewill offering meal to benefit participation in the WATTS ministry this winter.

Saint Paul AME

Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 428 N. Loudoun St., Winchester, will celebrate Women’s Day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Deborah Watt, pastor of Bethel AME Church, Parkersburg, W.Va. The music ministry will be provided by the St. Paul Women’s Day Choir.

Mount Carmel Baptist

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1317 S. Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester, will have an ice cream social following the morning worship.

Saint Luke Baptist

The women of Saint Luke Baptist Church, 17 Liberty St., Berryville, will sponsor The Gospel Pearls of Washington, D.C., in concert at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The church will observe its annual Women’s Day this Sunday. The guest preacher at 11 a.m. will be the Rev. Regina Coates, associate minister, of Zion Baptist Church, Berryville.

Mount Pleasant/Lamps

The Mount Pleasant/Lamps Church, 1800 Wardensville Grade, will hold a dedication ceremony to honor Virgil Austin for the numerous paintings he has done for the Fellowship Hall of the church.

The dedication will be held Sept. 29 following the 11 a.m. worship service.

Salem Church  of Brethren

The Salem Church of the Brethren on Salem Church Road in Stephens City will hold its annual homecoming Sunday.

Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Scott Duffey, a former interim minister at Salem Church. Music will be provided by Duffey.

Weekday Religious Education

Virginia Weekday Religious Education hosts fourth and fifth-grade students in Frederick County for weekly 30-minute Bible classes.

Classes are held off school campuses on the WRE bus.

St. John’s Lutheran

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3623 Back Mountain Road, Frederick County, will have Mocha and a Message at 6 p.m. Saturday in the social hall. This includes contemporary gospel music along with coffee and other beverages and light refreshments.

There is no charge, but a freewill offering will be collected to benefit community outreach.

Gravel Springs Lutheran

Gravel Springs Lutheran Church, 1870 S. Pifer Road, Star Tannery, will have a Blessing of the Animals at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the outside pavilion. Pets welcome.

The church will collect donations for the SPCA.

Winchester  Seventh-day Adventist

“His Helping Hands,” sponsored by the Winchester Seventh-day Adventist Church, meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays at 156 Lambden Ave.

The mission is to give back to the community by knitting, crocheting or sewing items to be donated to patients in hospitals and nursing homes. A light lunch will be served. It is open to the public. Call 540-722-4272.
