Living Waters

Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 4137 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester, will have its eighth annual revival at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday.

The Rev. Bill Gilliland from First Christian Church in Covington will be the guest speaker. This is his 26th year of ministry at First Christian. He will celebrate 40 years as a minister Oct. 31.

New Hope Baptist

New Hope Baptist Church, Route 701, will celebrate its ninth anniversary at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 13.

Jonathan Grooms, president of Treasure Path to Soul Winning and Global Partners for Peace and Development, will be the guest speaker. He has led church members on international mission trips to Haiti and India.

Mount Olive Baptist

Mount Olive Baptist Church, 5321 Mulberry St., Stephens City, will have a deaconess and deacon ministry celebration at 3 p.m. Oct. 20

St. Luke Baptist

St. Luke Baptist Church, 17 Liberty St., Berryville, will have a tea at 1 p.m. Saturday, sponsored by the deaconess of the church.

Joyce P. Dekle Scholarship Banquet will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at Grace Episcopal Parish Hall. The banquet will feature Sister Susan Summers, The Charles Hunter Chorale, and singing pastors.

Calvary Church  of Brethren

Calvary Church of the Brethren on Front Royal Road is hosting Camp Calvary at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Camp will be held every fifth Sunday with others on Nov. 10 and Dec. 15.

Stephens City Mennonite

Stephens City Mennonite Church, 5540 Valley Pike, Stephens City, will host a Sister Care program at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 for sharing, caring and praying.

Grace and Mercy Ministries

Grace and Mercy Ministries will have a Man II Man Conference at 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at 7893 Senseny Ave., Middletown.

This is a free event for boys, young men and adult males.

The church will have a Pastor Appreciation Service for the Rev. Pete Thomas at 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, 40 Ebony Way, Bunker Hill, W.Va. Guest speaker will be Pastor Bryon Johnson from Grace & Mercy Ministries.

Mount Carmel Baptist

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 1317 S. Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester, will celebrate the 16th Pastoral Family Anniversary at 10 a.m. Oct. 13. The Rev. Leroy Ford and the Rev. Theresa Bell will deliver the sermon. The ministry of music will be presented by Barbara Davis and the Children’s Choir.

John Mann UMC

John Mann United Methodist Church will have a prayer brunch at 11 a.m. Nov. 2 at Travelodge.

The speaker will be Regina Coates, a member of Zion Baptist Church in Berryville.

Society for Life

The local chapter of the Virginia Society for Life is sponsoring Life Chain at 2 p.m. Sunday in Winchester.

All churches may attend Winchester’s link in national prayer for the unborn.

Participants will gather on Pleasant Valley Road from Cork Street to Millwood Avenue.

Christ Church

A blessing of the animals will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church, 809 Bishop Meade Road, Millwood. Call 540-837-1112.

United Methodist district

The Winchester District of the United Methodist Church presents Change the World Mission Event from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Clarke County Fairgrounds near Berryville with music and fellowship from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Participants are to bring a picnic lunch, which will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Chestnut Grove

Chestnut Grove Cemetery will have a picnic from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at the cemetery next to the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, 140 Light Road, Frederick County.

Winchester Seventh-day Adventist

Winchester Seventh-day Adventist, 1508 Valley Ave., Winchester, will change worship time this Sunday — Sabbath school will begin at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11:15 a.m.

The pastor, Wayne Spangenberg, will conduct an early morning service in Front Royal each week. He will be in Winchester the first and third Sabbaths and in Strasburg the second and fourth.

A theology student from Columbia Union College in Washington, D.C., will present the message once a month with others filling in.

Ebenezer Christian

Ebenezer Christian Church, 2158 Ebenezer Church Road, Gore, will have a cemetery meeting Sunday, following the 11a.m. worship service. Contact 540-877-1380.

Fellowship Bible

Fellowship Bible Church, 3217 Middle Road, Winchester, will host Nashville-based Matthew Smith and Indelible Grace at 7 p.m. Oct. 12.

Visit fbcva.org/concert to reserve free tickets. A freewill offering will be collected at the concert.

Smith and his band will play hymns from their new album, “Watch the Rising Day.”

Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 10 Josephine St., Berryville, will have the annual Tea at the Ship at noon Saturday.

Weekday Religious Education

Virginia Weekday Religious Education hosts fourth- and fifth-grade students in Frederick County for weekly 30-minute Bible classes.

Classes are held off school campuses on the WRE bus.

Gravel Springs Lutheran Church, 1870 S. Pifer Road, Star Tannery, will have a Blessing of the Animals at 6 p.m. Saturday at the outside pavilion. Pets welcome.

The church will collect donations for the SPCA.

Pray Winchester

Pray Winchester meets from 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays in the recreation room of the War Memorial Building at Jim Barnett Park, Winchester.

A weekly women’s Bible study on the book of Matthew is held at Calvary Baptist Church, 844 Amherst St., Winchester. Programs are available for school-age children.

Winchester  Seventh-day Adventist

“His Helping Hands,” sponsored by the Winchester Seventh-day Adventist Church, meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays at 156 Lambden Ave.

The mission is to give back to the community by knitting, crocheting or sewing items to be donated to patients in hospitals and nursing homes. A light lunch will be served. It is open to the public. Call 540-722-4272.
