Special events, egg hunts will take place for Easter

Winchester — The following events are scheduled this weekend for the Easter holiday.

Friday

Apple Valley Baptist Church will have a Family Flashlight Easter Egg HuntFriday at the Clarke County Fairgrounds. Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. and the hunt at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Bring a flashlight and basket.

Register in advance at applevalleybaptist.com under the Ministries tab. It will be held rain or shine.

Relief United Methodist Church, 5275 Middle Road, Winchester, will have free children’s activities from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the church. Children ages 3 to middle school may attend.

Events will include an Easter egg hunt, Bible story, crafts and refreshments.

Saturday

The Family Drive-In Theatre in Stephens City will have an Easter egg hunt at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Easter bunny will be in attendance and children will hunt eggs by age groups and visit with the Easter bunny prior to that night’s movie show times at approximately 7:30 p.m. The hunt is included with the nightly movie admission — $8 for adults and $4 for children, ages 3 to 11. Historic Long Branch in Clarke County will have its annual Shenandoah Valley Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday for ages 3 to 10 with face painting, egg hunt, photo opportunities with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, local barbecue, flowering spring gardens, hayrides and more. Cost is $5 per car. Call 540-837-1856.

An Easter egg hunt will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Reynolds Store Fire and Rescue, 9181 North Frederick Pike, Cross Junction. The hunts will be divided by age. Call 540-888-3000.

The Old Town Winchester Business Association will have an Easter egg hunt at the Our Health Campus, 329 N. Cameron St., at 11 a.m. Saturday. There will be three separate hunts for ages 3 and under, 4 to 6, and 7 to 10. The event is free and open to the public.

Agape Christian Church, Tasker Road, Stephens City, is hosting an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday. Children will be divided into three age groups: 4 and under, 5 to 7, and 8 to 10. There will be a golden egg prize for each age group and Blaze the Buffalo from Buffalo Wild Wings will be on hand for photos. Call 540-869-6070.

Hebron Baptist Church, Gore, will have a free Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday for ages 2 to 12.

Monday

A free Easter egg hunt will be held from 1 to 3 p.m Monday at Fremont Street Nursery, 533 Fremont St., Winchester, for children from ages 2 to 9.

Bring a basket. There will be free prizes, food and drinks. It is sponsored by the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World of W. Daniel J. Farrar Lodge 458 in conjunction with Fremont Street Nursery.
