WINCHESTER — An area McDonald’s was closed  early Friday morning after  a Frederick County man was found dead in the bathroom.

The deceased was identified as 37-year-old Stephen Michael Cycyk Jr. of North Frederick Pike, according to Capt. Allen Sibert with Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

The McDonald’s is located in Stonewall Plaza on North Frederick Pike.

Foul play has been ruled out and the cause of death will be determined pending toxicology results.

Sibert said he did not know when the man was found, but witnesses say the restaurant was closed as early as 7:30 a.m. and had started accepting customers through drive-in only  at around 8 a.m.

A sheriff’s cruiser blocked the entrance for some of that time, and an ambulance with its lights off was seen in the parking lot.

Sibert said he did not know how long the restaurant was closed.

Cycyk was found by a McDonald’s worker, but Sibert said Cycyk was not an employee at the restaurant.

There was no evidence of a break-in.

Sibert said it wasn’t known whether Cycyk went straight to the bathroom or patronized the restaurant at any time.
He said there was nothing suspicious nearby the body.
