Police searching for possible armed and dangerous man with stolen car

WINCHESTER - City police are searching tonight for a man who they believe may be armed and dangerous and fled from a stolen car.

The driver was last seen on Ewell Street, near Baker Lane and Berryville Avenue. Police at the scene found three stolen firearms in the older model Acura car, reported stolen out of Jefferson County, W.Va.

The suspect is described as a white male with dirty blonde hair and a shaggy cut. He is believed to be in his 30s with an average build, 6-foot-2, with freckles and facial hair, including a mustache. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, tan shorts and flip flops.

A Virginia State Police canine unit was called to the scene, but the suspect had not been found as of 11 p.m.

Officers are asking residents who may encounter or see this man to call police at 540-662-4131.
