3 injured in 2-car accident

Three people were transported to Winchester Medical Center Sunday morning following a head-on collision in Frederick County, according to Capt. J.M. Taylor of North Mountain Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. just north of the intersection of Back Mountain Road and South Hayfield Road, Taylor said.
Two four-door passenger vehicles were involved, but Taylor wasn’t able to provide any additional information.
He said the three patients sustained injuries that varied in severity. He did not know if any of the their injuries were life-threatening.
It’s not known what caused the accident or if charges have been placed.
According to Taylor, the crash occurred at a curve in the road on a blind hill.
Round Hill, Gainesboro and Gore volunteer fire and rescue companies also responded to the scene.
