WINCHESTER — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged sexual assault from a New Year’s Eve party.

A search warrant filed Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court states that investigators took DNA samples from the suspect, a 19-year-old man, on Wednesday.

Lt. Donnie Lang said there has not been an arrest in the case, however, as detectives wait on lab results.

According to the warrant, the 22-year-old victim reported Jan. 5 that she blacked out at the party and woke up Jan. 1 in a dark room at a Frederick County residence.

She said she woke up to a “male figure on top of her thrusting himself.”

The warrant states that the victim allegedly remembered seeing the man and him burying his face in her shoulder when she awoke.

She identified the alleged attacker as a co-worker.

The warrant does not state where in the county the party took place.

The case remains under investigation.
