WINCHESTER — A local man is being held without bond after allegedly raping a woman in a wooded area Friday near Fort Collier Road.
Charles Warren Duffin, 39, is being held at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center after appearing Monday via video in Frederick County General District Court.
He was arrested just before midnight Friday at The Salvation Army, 300 Fort Collier Road, after a 19-year-old woman identified him as her rapist, according to a criminal complaint.
Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies met with the alleged victim at Winchester Medical Center.
She reported that she and Duffins walked together into a wooded area when he told her he wanted to have sex.
The woman told police that Duffins told her to “shut up” and pushed her to the ground, forced her to have sex and caused her to bleed, according to the complaint.
Duffins, who is charged with rape, told deputies that he had sex with the woman, but that she agreed to the encounter, the complaint states.
He is scheduled to reappear in court at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
