Area brief: Barlow leads SVCA to win, spot in state title game

DANVILLE — Amanda Barlow scored 21 points and had eight rebounds to lead Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy to a 51-30 win over Westover Christian in the VACA State Semifinals on Friday.

The Patriots (20-3) blanked the Bulldogs 8-0 in the second quarter to take control of the contest, building a 20-7 advantage at the half.

Hannah McGann and Grace Snyder added 11 points apiece for the Patriots, who advance to face Parkway Christian in today’s championship game at 2 p.m. at Westover Christian.

Leah Clayton scored 21 points, and Hannah White added nine for Westover.
