Winchester — City Meat Gallery is hosting a holiday party today for the opening of the Friends and Family Show, a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties.

The exhibit features images submitted by amateur and professional photographers and artists.

“The response to our call for participation has been overwhelming, and very heartwarming,” said show host Georgiana Dearing. “We’ve had submissions from across the state, the West Coast and even a few from a photographer in Italy. And our friends in the community have been gracious and very generous. It’s going to be terrific to see the gallery packed with prints.”

The images in the show will be available as 6-inch by 6-inch. photographic prints, mounted on black art board. Prices will be posted and guests can make purchases on the spot.

Water Street Design has donated the cost of the prints and mounting boards. All proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with Water Street Design on this great event,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Juli Ferrell.

The exhibit is open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m. today at 205 N. Cameron St.
