AAUW
Winchester American Association of University Women will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Courtyard by Marriott on Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50) west of Winchester.
Vanessa Wigand, principal specialist for health education, physical education, driver education and athletics at the Virginia Department of Education, will speak on “Title IX: Looking Back, Moving Forward.”

Old Fredericktown Garden Club
The Old Fredericktown Garden Club will hold its annual Christmas party at the home of President Jean Miller.
The party will be hosted by its board members and will begin at 6 p.m.
The club met Nov. 14 at the home of Louise Nelson, co-hosted with Jean Miller, and the club’s annual auction was held.
Woman’s Club of Clarke County
The Woman’s Club of Clarke County will meet at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 in Berryville Baptist Church.
The program will feature a bell-ringing performance, with members participating.
Officers for 2013 will be installed. The hostesses will be Mary Carter, Pat Copenhaver, Barbara Morris and Ellie Shirley.

Host Lions
The Winchester Host Lion’s Club will meet at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Best Western Lee-Jackson.

Winchester Wheelmen
The annual December Winchester Wheelmen banquet will be held Monday at the Winchester Country Club.

An election of officers is scheduled. Some officers are stepping down after long service to the club, including President Steve Breeden, Secretary Amy Hartman and Treasurer Cathy Breeden. Some 2013 officer candidates have been nominated; additional nominations can be made at the banquet. The current nominations include Shawn Carrico (president), Mike Perry (vice president), Charmaine Shaw (secretary) and Nancy Jo Carrico (treasurer).

VFW and auxiliaries
The Winchester Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2123, its Ladies’ Auxiliary and its Men’s Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the post home at 200 Sulky Drive.

The Nov. 27 North/ South winners were: Virginia Fluet and Linda Zawacki and Gerard O’Malley and Dagmar Loose, who tied for first. East/West winners were” Stephen Montague and Milan Majarov, first; and Mary Kay Fahnestock and Veda Headley, second.

Korean War veterans
The Shenandoah Valley Chapter 313 of the Korean War Veterans Association will meet 2 p.m. Tuesday at American Legion Post 21 at 1730 Berryville Pike (Va. 7).
Any member of the military who served in Korea, including its territorial waters and airspace, from Sept. 3, 1945, to the present, and any veteran who served outside Korea between Jan. 25, 1950, and Jan. 31, 1955, can become a member.
