PFLAG

Winchester Wheelmen
Winchester Wheelmen will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Village Square in Winchester. Business session begins at 7 p.m.

The annual banquet was held Dec. 10 at the Winchester Country Club, hosted by D.J. Arnold and Logan Felty.
Awards were presented to Winchester Wheelmen Race Team, Male Racer of the Year Andrew Massonneau, Female Racer of the Year Mackenzie Vanover, Wheelman of the Year Steve Breeden, Most Improved Rider Ed Duncan, Most Supportive of Local Cycling Ben Hanson.
Officers for 2013 include President Shawn Carrico, Vice President Mike Perry, Treasurer Nancy Morrison Carrico and Secretary Charmaine Shaw.
Rides scheduled include Thursdays at White Post; night road ride is a go unless there is rain or snow. Ride starts from White Post Restorations. Ride departs at 6 p.m. Average speed is 15 to 17 mph. Buck Hefner is leading. White front light and red rear flashing light are required.
Kiwanis Club of Winchester
The Kiwanis Club of Winchester will meet at noon today at the Best Western Lee-Jackson.

MOAA
The Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 at Piccadilly’s Public House in Winchester.
Speaker will be Dr. Robert Bodnar, a veteran of the Air Force and a faculty member at Virginia Tech. His research is related to the study of minerals and energy resources and the origin and exploration for these resources and the environmentally friendly extraction of them.

Shenandoah Valley Runners
The fourth Shenandoah Valley Runners winter series race, Predicted Time Five-Miler, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Bowling Green Country Club-South, Front Royal.
Entry fees are $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers and $1 for students. Participants may pre-register online at raceit.com.

The swing band Eclectic Coalition will play.
Dance Club Shenandoah is a members-only organization that holds monthly ballroom/swing/Latin dances with live bands.
