The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Winchester Chapter 180 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Best Western Lee-Jackson in Winchester.
Entertainment will be by the Dixie Rhythm Band.

Rotary Club of Frederick County
The Rotary Club of Frederick County will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shenandoah University in the Clement Board Room of Allen Dining Hall.

The Winchester Torch Club has more than 50 members, making it the largest club in its region, and the fourth-largest in the International Association of Torch Clubs.
Torch, an international organization of professionals and academics, meets monthly to consider papers prepared by club members.
The initial paper for the Winchester club this year was presented Oct. 3 by Dr. Ann Lesman, professor of foreign languages at Shenandoah University. Her topic was “Its Time to Drop the Cuban Embargo.”
Officers for the 2012-13 year include Stephen Brown, president; Dr. Deborah Bauserman, vice president, programs; Frank Wright, vice president, arrangements; James Klenkar, member at large; Thomas Hill, secretary; Daniel Rodgers, treasurer; Michael Foreman, membership chair, and Jeffrey Patton, immediate past president.

Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society
The Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society presents “Solid Waste, Pollution and Avian Habitat: What You Can Do” by Michael Neese at 7 p.m. Monday in Room 102 of Shenandoah University’s Bowman Building, 20 S. Cameron St.
Neese is head of the recycling program for the city of Winchester.

Sons of Confederate Veterans
The Turner Ashby Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shenandoah University in the Hester Auditorium in Henkel Hall.
Arthur Candenquist will give a presentation on “The Great Train Robbery” or “The Confederates Gather Steam.”
Candenquist has been a scholar of the War Between the States since 1956 and focuses his attention on the more unusual and lesser-known aspects of the war.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
Kiwanis Club of Winchester
The Kiwanis Club of Winchester will meet at noon today at the Best Western Lee-Jackson.
