Winchester Kiwanis Club

John Flood will present a program, “The Wild West and the Pioneer Spirit, Past, Present and Future,” at the Winchester Kiwanis Club at noon today. The club meets at the Best Western Lee-Jackson Conference Center at 711 Millwood Ave.

Old Fredericktown Garden Club

The Old Fredericktown Garden Club will meet today at the Willow Lawn Community Center. The program will be on native trees, and Mary Stickley-Godnez will be the speaker.

Social time will be at 11:30 a.m. Exhibits will be in place at 11:45 a.m. Exhibits will be judged starting at noon. The artistic theme will be “You Light Up My Life.” The featured horticulture exhibit will be roses.

These exhibits will be eligible for the Gertrude Peery Award for Roses. Other horticulture exhibits will be open.

Apple Valley Tea Party

The Apple Valley Tea Party will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Frederick County Public Safety Building at 1080 Coverstone Drive east of Winchester.

Journalist Ron Edwards of the award-winning commentary “The Edwards Notebook” radio show will be speaking. It is free to the public to attend.

Woman’s Club  of Clarke County

The Woman’s Club of Clarke County will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Berryville Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be JudySue Huyett-Kempf, director of the Patsy Cline Historic House, whose topic will be “The Progress of Patsy Cline in Hometown Winchester.” Hostesses will be Pat Cobb, Kitty Henry and Dot Royston. Shenandoah Knitting Guild

The Shenandoah Knitting Guild will hold its meeting at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church at 75 Merrimans Lane. Instruction will continue regarding new stitches to be part of the Mystery Scarf project. All knitters are welcome.

The Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 2921 Grace St.

McKinley Chapter No. 19, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Masonic Lodge at 118 N. Loudoun St. Two 50-year membership pins will be presented. Rotary Club  of Frederick County

The Rotary Club of Frederick County will meet at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sherando Park in the Frederick County Rotary Shelter. Regina O’Brien, execu-tive director of the Youth Development Center, will be the guest speaker. O’Brien will share an overview of 25 years of YDC accomplishments. Duplicate bridge

The Dick Bowers Duplicate Bridge Club holds regular games at 7 p.m. Mondays and 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Godfrey Miller Fellowship Center at 28 S. Loudoun St. in Winchester and on the second and fourth Saturdays at Westminster-Canterbury. New players are welcome.

Winchester Wheelmen

The Winchester Wheelmen will hold its club meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Ruritan Shelter in Sherando Park in Stephens City. There will be a casual bike ride on local multi-use paths, followed by pizza and soda pop provided by the club. There will be a brief business meeting during the evening. The shelter is adjacent to the large parking lot north of the swimming pool.

Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America

The Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the MOAA will meet for its semi-monthly luncheon at 11:45 a.m. on July 17 at Piccadilly’s Public House, located at 125 E. Piccadilly Street. All active duty, retired and former military officers are welcome. The guest speaker will be from the National MOAA office.

Winchester Gun Club

Winchester Gun Club will be hosting a spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. on July 19 to help raise funds for its youth traveling girls’ softball team.

Winchester Lioness Lions
