MIDDLETOWN — Although he resigned as the town’s mayor more than six months ago, Marshall “Mark” Brown has not quietly retreated to civilian life.

Brown launched a website Tuesday that will help ensure his voice is still heard.

Middletownva.net — which Brown decided to create in late March — includes the ex-mayor’s ideas for a better town government and how to help it grow.

He isn’t happy about how the Town Council has operated since his departure and feels it’s his duty to help keep residents informed.

“I haven’t given up on the town,” Brown said in a Thursday interview.

Interim Mayor Charles Harbaugh IV hasn’t seen the website, but he isn’t sure the current council needs advice from Brown.

“I think [the council] is moving in the right direction,” he said. “The meetings are smoother. There’s no hostility and no name-calling.”

Animosity on the council led to the March 12 resignations of Brown and two other council members.

The former mayor said he will continue his efforts to inform Middletown citizens as the Nov. 6 election approaches. He said he plans to post possibly damaging background information on all the Middletown candidates.

“I’m trying to dig up as much as I can,” he said.
