Apple Tree Market, 2454 Northwestern Pike (U.S. 50), is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The market offers fresh-cut Christmas trees, wreaths made on the premises, greenery roping, local apples, winter squash, Rinker’s cider, local eggs, dairy products, country ham, honey, homemade fudge, baked goods, old-fashioned Christmas candy, jams and jellies, Greenberry’s coffee and local beef, gift items including local crafts.
A line of dog products including Beggars Dozen dog treats and K9-Kravings raw dog food and treats benefit local dog rescue work. Contact 540-667-8754.
The Barefoot Farmer, Scott Whitacre, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday through December on the Loudoun Street Mall in Winchester and offers vegetables, fruits and plants.
Freight Station Farmers Market, 315 W. Boscawen St. in Winchester, is a producers-only market. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays until Christmas. Local produce available includes kale, collards, broccoli raab, mustard greens, winter squash, tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, sweet potatoes, turnips, green onions, cabbage, leeks, apples, beets, carrots and others.
Other featured products are grass-fed beef, wild-caught Alaskan fish, baked goods, unpasteurized cider, fruit juices, preserves, butter, cheese, Christmas trees and wreaths, honey, fruitcake and artisan soap.
Participating vendors include Mayfair Farm, Mary Miller, Stoney Lane Farm, Shepherds Whey Creamery and LizSoaps. Vendors vary by market day.
The market will host a Christmas event Dec. 22. Chef Ricardo Stocco of Violino Ristorante will roast local chestnuts throughout the market hours.

Marker-Miller Orchards Farm Market & Bakery, 3035 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The last day of the season will be Dec. 22.
Apples available include Nittany, Fuji, Rome, York, Stayman, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Ida Red and Granny Smith.
The market is also taking orders for apple gift packs and baked goods for the holidays, and gift certificates and gift baskets are available.
Other items include cider, milk, eggs, fruit wines, jams, jellies, salad dressings, local honey, variety of syrups and no-sugar-added jar goods.
