WINCHESTER — The first child born at Winchester Medical Center in 2013 nearly came too early to earn the honor.
Eric and Amber Fisher, both 31-year-old Winchester residents, pulled into the WMC parking lot at about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. Their second-born came at 7:58 a.m.
“I was panicking a little,” Eric Fisher said.
The panic subsided with the arrival of a healthy 7-pound, 10-ounce girl.
The couple is leaning toward naming her Penelope Brooke, Fisher said. But that could change, as the Fishers went back and forth on names for their first daughter before settling on Caitlyn.
Had their second child, who was originally scheduled to arrive Jan. 4, come any earlier, she would have been born in the car.
But the timing worked out fine for her father, who was excited she was the first newborn of 2013 at WMC.
“It’s a great feeling,” he said. “I think she’ll have a great birthday.”
