Global Film Festival opens at SU

Winchester — A Global Film Festival will be held today through Sunday in Stimpson Auditorium in Halpin-Harrison Hall on the campus of Shenandoah University.
The festival is presented by the Foreign Language Department in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication & Women’s Studies.
All films will be shown with English subtitles, and all screenings are free and open to the public.
The schedule of the film festival is as follows:
Friday, 7 p.m. — “El secreto de sus ojos” (“The Secret in their Eyes” Argentina 2009), 129 minutes, rated R.
A reception will follow.
Saturday, 11 a.m. — “Nostalgia de la luz” (“Nostalgia for the Light” Chile 2010), 90 minutes, not rated.
Saturday, 7 p.m. — “Tomboy” (“Tomboy” France 2011), 82 minutes, not rated.
Sunday, 11 a.m. — “Saving Face” (USA/Pakistan 2012), 40 minutes, not rated. A discussion will follow.
Sunday, 7 p.m. — “Le Gamin au Vélo” (“The Child with the Bike” Belgium/France 2011), 87 minutes, rated PG-13.
