Man charged with rape of his girlfriend’s sister

BERRYVILLE — A Bluemont man remains behind bars after being accused of raping his girlfriend’s sister in Clarke County.
James Wesley Hutton, 30, is being held in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Frederick County, charged with rape.
According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s Office media release, police received a call March 1 about the rape, which allegedly occurred in the 200 block of Hackberry Lane in Bluemont.
Hutton was arrested the same day.
During the investigation, it was determined that the alleged victim and suspect knew each other, according to the release.
A search warrant filed Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court indicates that Hutton is the boyfriend of the victim’s sister. The search warrant seeks Hutton’s DNA.
He is scheduled to appear at 11 a.m. March 21 in Clarke County General District Court.
