WINCHESTER — A local man is in jail after allegedly robbing another man with a knife Sunday.
Kevin Lamont Sanders Jr., 19, of Winchester, is charged with robbery, underage possession of alcohol and public intoxication.
Already on bond and awaiting a jury trial in February for charges related to a New Year’s Day mob attack last year in the city, Sanders allegedly robbed a Winchester man at about 2 a.m. in the area of Loudoun and Cork streets.
Winchester Police Department officers were able to locate the suspect a short distance from the scene, according to a Sunday media release.
Police recovered a pocketknife and an article of clothing valued at $50 from Sanders.
Sanders remained at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center without bond Monday, according to a jail official.
No other information about the incident was available.
